Most people in China have likely never heard of the vaquita and know nothing of its precarious status. Therefore, as part of our long-term effort to help save the vaquita from extinction, ¡VIVA Vaquita! is developing a Hong Kong/China Vaquita and Totoaba Task Force. The overall goal of this project is to help reduce the demand for totoaba bladders in Hong Kong and China, and therefore to increase survival prospects for both endangered species.
